Mary Elizabeth Langdon discusses her bookkeepping job at the Max Rosenberg Company, describes the Langdon House and its history in detail, and talks about churches, schools, hospitals, and historic homes in Columbus, Ga. She also discusses her family and her education and her perceptions of Columbus when she first moved there. She also talks about World War I, the Depression, and World War II and their effects on Columbus; the early history of Fort Benning; and local monuments and cemeteries.

Mary Elizabeth Langdon was born and raised in Alabama, and came to Columbus, Ga. in 1910 to attend business college. She began working for the Max Rosenberg Company and then left work to marry and start a family. When her children had grown up, she returned to work for another 21 years. She and her family lived in the historic Langdon house for many years until it was sold after her husband's death.
